Blacklock Point is designated as a Marine Conservation Area (MCA) to conserve the ecological integrity of the marine habitats at the site.

The MCA consists of one mile of intertidal habitat at Blacklock Point, adjacent to Floras Lake State Natural Area (OAR 141-142-0100).
